What We Need From Our Politicians

Unity is something which is extremely important to any country or state. The same is the case with a state like Virginia. There are so many critical problems plaguing the state today and the worst part is that we all know that no matter who we elect, nothing is going to change here. Mike Pflugrath was right to a large extent when he said that irrespective of whoever comes into power, finding solutions to these problems is not going to be easy.

Especially when it’s an election year, the number of differences that people really have come to the front. Everyone has a different perspective of who should come into power and each perspective has its own advantages and disadvantages. One very important thing that people have to understand is that there is no politician who will be elected and be able to please everyone. There will always be people from the opposition’s party who aren’t happy with what is on offer. There is absolutely no way in which this can be combatted.

What is important for people to understand though is that all of us have come from one place. We have all be born the same way and we will all die at the end. And what we do in between is what’s going to define us for generations to come. Even if you are a politician, you aren’t immune to life. It is up to you to ensure you make the most of the power that is granted to you, not for personal gain but for the wellbeing and enhancement of the people who voted for you. I agree that it’s a thankless job, but it’s a job that someone needs to do. If it isn’t you, it will be someone else.

As far as elections and results in Virginia are concerned, it is important for people to understand that who is elected is not the main issue. It is what the person who is elected does with the power granted to him/her. There are so many things that need bettering in Virginia. It is going to take a really strong personality to fix all of them. And the best thing for people like you and me to do is to try and gauge who that person is going to be. Do proper research and background analysis of the candidates before voting. This way, you will at least start working towards a stable political environment.
